The Society Of Local Council Clerks National Conference 2025

Hebden Royd Town Council’s Town Clerk & RFO Emma Green and Deputy Clerk & Projects & Events Manager Ebony Andrews have just returned from the Society Of Local Council Clerks (SLCC) National Conference 2025 — and what an energising, thought-provoking few days it was!

Throughout the conference, Emma and Ebony took part in sessions exploring leadership in local governance, innovation in public services, community engagement, and collaborative partnerships. The agenda highlighted how councils across the country are evolving to meet tomorrow’s challenges — and it reaffirmed our commitment to continuous improvement.

“Attending sessions together, meeting so many dedicated professionals, and hearing fresh perspectives brings a renewed sense of purpose. I’m deeply grateful for the chance to reconnect, learn, and bring new ideas back to our team.”
— Emma Green, Town Clerk & RFO

A huge thank you to the SLCC for delivering such a rich and well-structured programme, and to conference sponsors Blachere Illuminations for helping make it all possible.

Emma and Ebony would also like to thank everyone they met, chatted with, or simply heard speak — your insights and enthusiasm were truly inspiring.

They’re returning home motivated, full of ideas, and looking forward to putting what they’ve learned into action.
