Journey to Oz: Special Charity Screening with the Mayor

On Sunday 14th April at 4pm, join us at Hebden Bridge Picture House for an enchanting afternoon hosted by the Mayor of Hebden Royd, Cllr. Bernice Hayes. Immerse yourself in the timeless wonder of one of her cherished classics, The Wizard of Oz, as we celebrate its 85th anniversary this year.

Your attendance at this special screening will not only transport you to the magical land of Oz but also contribute to a valuable local cause, as all proceeds will support the Mayor's chosen charity, Calder Food Support.

Additionally, there will be opportunity to participate in our raffle, where fantastic prizes await, and as you settle in for the film, enjoy a complimentary cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit.

Starring Judy Garland as Dorothy, this beloved Technicolor family musical, based on L. Frank Baum's timeless book, continues to captivate audiences. Renowned critic Roger Ebert once remarked, "It has a wonderful surface of comedy and music, special effects and excitement, but we still watch it decades later because its underlying story penetrates straight to the deepest insecurities of childhood, stirs them and then reassures them."
