Hebden Royd Town Council are hosting a Careers Expo in association with C+K Careers, Jobcentre Plus and local providers of training and education.
The event will take place on Wednesday 1 December 2-6pm at Mytholmroyd Community Centre.
C+K Careers has been commissioned by Hebden Royd Town Council to provide extra support for 16 - 24-year-olds living in the Hebden Royd area. The Careers Expo is aimed at this group who have been impacted by the affects of the Covid 19 pandemic. The event will showcase opportunities for young people, especially those wanting a fresh start for January, and attendees will be able to sign up for apprenticeships and training courses on the day.
Calderdale College Apprenticeship team will be there taking applications for apprenticeships starting in January. Also recruiting for courses starting in January will be The Prince's Trust and Climate Challenge College, both based at Todmorden Learning Centre, and C+K Careers 'Make the Most of You' course.
Qube Learning and Generation UK are on hand to tell young people about what they can offer and sign people up for training courses. People attending the event will be able to get expert careers guidance and help getting into work from Sarah Bruce, C+K Careers Adviser and support around benefits and information on Kickstart from Jobcentre Plus.
Sarah Bruce said: "If you are aged 16-24 then be sure to come along, you could find yourself with a fresh start in an apprenticeship, training course or job for the new year!"
