Climate Emergency and Biodiversity Coordinator

POST GRADE:  NJC Point 21-23  FTE £26,511 - £27,741

HOURS: Up to 0.5 FTE (18.5 hours per week) fixed term until March 2024 with review.

We are looking for an individual with a passion to make an effective response to the climate emergency and improve biodiversity in Hebden Royd.

Your ability to inspire and motivate the community and partner agencies in these efforts will be essential as well as having a background of working in ecology, sustainability or horticulture with a qualification relevant to the role or extensive relevant knowledge and experience.

Working to implement the Council's Climate Emergency Action Plan you will need project management skills and excellent communication skills to establish credibility with the community, councillors, colleagues, and partners to achieve the outcomes of the Plan. An ability to lead and nurture a group of volunteers to support the community projects is essential.

Your responsibilities will be wide ranging from active involvement in the Council's Woodmeadow to increasing cycle use and writing risk assessments.
