Mayor Expresses Sadness of the death of His Royal Highness, the Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh

Hebden Royd Town Council is deeply saddened to hear of the death of His Royal Highness, the Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Our thoughts are with Her Majesty the Queen, and the rest of the Royal Family at this time.

A flagpole has been erected in Hebden Bridge Town Hall and the Union Flag will be flown at half-mast until the morning following the funeral of Prince Philip.

Hebden Royd Town Council Mayor Val Stevens said: "I would like to express, on behalf of Hebden Royd Town Council, the sadness that we feel on hearing the news of the death of Prince Philip.”

Graham Mynott, Executive Director of Hebden Bridge Community Association said: “Hebden Bridge Community Association (who own and run the Town Hall in Hebden Bridge) are supporting Hebden Royd Town Council to enable them to fulfil their responsibilities at this time.

"We are making available space in the Town Hall for a flagpole in common with other central and local government owned Town Hall’s up and down the country for the days of national mourning.”
