The Mayor of Hebden Royd Town Council, Cllr Val Stevens would like to express her heartfelt thanks to all the local businesses who remained open during the recent Covid 19 lockdown period. In both Hebden Bridge & Mytholmroyd numerous retailers, both independent and national, have remained open and without the dedication and hard work of their staff and those further afield, many would have been unable to secure essential supplies for themselves and their families and friends. Essential supplies such as food, medicines, cleaning and sanitising and a postal service have all been much needed. This has all been achieved while adhering to Covid-19 guidelines.
The Mayor will be personally visiting shops in Hebden Bridge on Friday, 26th June and in Mytholmroyd on Saturday, 27th June accompanied by her consort, to personally thank them and their staff, for the brilliant service they have continued to provide our community, during the pandemic. In addition, the Mayor will be sending letters of thanks to businesses who have contributed to the Eat Together, Stay Home project.
Cllr Stevens will be taking this opportunity to promote the 'Loyal to Local' campaign, led by the Hebden Bridge Business Forum, which encourages our local community to shop locally and support not only the retailers that have supported them during the pandemic but also ones reopening after closure. To ensure the future of our vibrant shopping areas in Hebden Royd and protect the jobs of those that work in them. Cllr Stevens said "Local businesses and the community have shown yet again resilience during a very difficult period of all our lives and I want to encourage people to be loyal to local and keep safe at all times".
