Hebden Royd Town Council is proud to have supported the creation of the new Calder Valley Radio, through its Community Funding Scheme. Below are a few words from Tony Hodgins who has been instrumental in getting Calder Valley Radio to where it is today.
"We are delighted to announce that Calder Valley Radio is now at the stage of being ready to start broadcasting over the internet. It has been a long and sometimes very difficult process, but at last we can see a light at the end of the tunnel.
"Without the help of various people and organisations none of this would have been possible, and we would like to thank the following:
"Jon Chilvers, manager at Mytholmroyd Community Centre, for offering us a room to make into a studio. Without this we couldn't have made a start.
"Hebden Royd Town Council for granting us half the start-up costs providing we could find someone to match the grant, and thanks go to Royd Regeneration for doing that.
And Calderdale Ward Forum for their contribution.
"Thanks also go to Royd Regeneration committee member Nigel Robertshaw, who has given up his time to voluntarily build the studio and organise the electrical work.
"We also owe a great many thanks to Dave Moses and Guy Parry for their continued belief, support and work in setting up Calder Valley Radio, and we can now look forward to a great future.
"Happy listening to your local community radio station online and on mobile."
