Sue and Geoff Mitchell were recently presented with the 2018 Service to the Community Award by Hebden Royd Town Council.
Having working tirelessly for over ten years as part of the Mytholmroyd Station Partnership the Council unanimously agreed to make this award.
From re-installing artwork at the station, cleaning up the station and its approaches to lobbying for the development of an extended Station Car Park the impact they have had on their local community has been amazing.
Geoff, a retired British Rail Engineer, has always been realistic in what can be achieved but he has seen in the last few years development and regeneration at the station come together with the new car park, due to house approaching 200 cars, soon to be underway followed by the listed station building. It is a real credit to them and there small band of helpers who all contribute to improving the area in which they live.
