Handmade Parade returns for its 11th annual parade

Hebden Royd Town Council is tremendously proud to be one of the sponsors of the Hebden Bridge Handmade Parade which is returning this year for its 11th annual parade through the streets of Hebden Bridge on Sunday 24th June.

Handmade Parade

This year the parade itself is travelling carnival themed and will give people a chance to show off their vibrant, fun and funky creations that they have made in the workshops provided which will be held over the 2 weeks prior to the Parade. Entrance to these workshops is by donation and everyone is welcome. Any materials you should need to use are provided for free, along with as much or as little instruction as you need.

Handmade Parade

The workshops will be running in Unit 5, Victoria Works, Victoria Road, Hebden Bridge, HX7 8LN and are running on the following dates and times:

Saturday 9th June             10 – 12 am             2 – 4 pm
Sunday 10th June             10 – 12 am             2 – 4 pm
Tuesday 12th June            4 – 6 pm
Thursday 14th June          4 – 6 pm

Saturday 16th June         10 – 12 am             2 – 4 pm
Sunday 17th June             10 – 12 am             2 – 4 pm
Tuesday 19th June            4 – 6 pm                7 – 9 pm
Thursday 21st June           4 – 6 pm                7 – 9 pm

Handmade Parade are also providing workshops and classes for other aspects of the parade such as: Joining the Samba band, Learning to stilt walk or joining the dance group. Find more info out about these classes and their costs at their website

The parade will set off at 11.30 am on Sunday 24th June – note this is half an hour earlier than last year!-  from the Handmade Parade workshops on Victoria Road and head down Valley Road, through St George's Square and Bridge Gate to finish in Calder Holmes Park, where there will be mini festival of live music, dance, street theatre and picnic in the park with fabulous food stalls from local vendors until 4.30 pm.
