As a sponsor of the Handmade Parade, Hebden Royd Town Council is always tremendously proud of all the hard work they do, the time and effort they put into their events, the amazing masterpieces that are created as outcomes through all this amazing work.
So it’s no surprise they’re going all out again to create plenty of pieces, this time to get involved at the Tour de Yorkshire!
With the Tour de Yorkshire coming our way this May, its full steam ahead for Handmade Parade who are working very hard to create lots of flags, banners and “Wavy things” for the event. Even the children from the local schools have been getting involved to make, locally born, David Hockney inspired bunting for the race after learning about him and looking at his landscapes! They really have turned out as mini masterpieces!
The Tour de Yorkshire will be passing through Hebden on Sunday 6th May and the town will be out in all its glory to support the cyclists with their wonderful handmade banners and flags!
With so many of these wonderful items being made for the event, Handmade Parade are looking for people with sewing machines to help sew some straight lines in order to piece together the hundreds of triangles that as a result will make line after line of beautiful bunting. And apparently it doesn’t matter if they’re wobbly straight lines either so people of all skill types have the chance to help out and get involved! Even help from your home for just an hour or two would be a massive help to them to get things finished in time!
If you think you could offer some assistance then please do not hesitate to give help them in whatever way you can!
