Hebden Royd Town Councillors representing Mytholmroyd met with members of the Environment Agency Team based in the village, and Anne Holdsworth from Calderdale Council.
The Environment Agency outlined their initial timetable and plan and the group went round the village where areas of future work were discussed.
Cllr Bampton-Smith said ' the ten million pounds is a great start, but there is a lot to be achieved to help protect Mytholmroyd from flood risk'. Cllr Tony Hodgins and Cllr Catherine Crosland asked about the river widening ideas.
The Environment Agency stated that they wanted the views of the residents on flood alleviation and announced a portable public information office would be at the Community Centre from Monday 13th June.
They also said that the initial work to date had been achieved faster than any others so far. Councillor June Cammack said, 'I am pleased that the residents will be consulted on the best plan for the bridges.'
Cllr Boggis thanked the EA and Calderdale for arranging the informative meeting.
