Following the disqualification of Nicola May for not accepting the post as White Lee Ward Councillor in the prescribed manner, submissions for the post were considered at the meeting of the Full Council on the 5th August. Two candidates presented themselves and highlighted how they would contribute to the Council and the Local Community.
Following questioning and a vote, former Councillor Tony Hodgins was returned to the council.
Born on Scout Bottom in Mytholmroyd, Tony has lived here most of his life, attending St James's School at Mytholm then Calder High and Percival Whitley College in Halifax.
His interests include photography, music, wildlife and walking in the countryside with his dogs.
Involved with Voluntary Action For Calderdale as a volunteer photographer and also Community Action For Calderdale he also volunteers for The National Trust as a guide at Gibson Mill, Hardcastle Crags.
He hopes to make Hebden Royd a safe, clean and environmentally friendly place to live.
