Today, 1st December 2012, Hebden Royd Town Council formally submitted its application to Calderdale MBC for the Transfer of the Hebden Bridge Picture House into their ownership.
The 47 page document analysed the current financial position of the Picture House considering its strengths and weaknesses and how Hebden Royd Town Council intends to provide the digitalisation that Calderdale MBC cannot provide and how it will make the Picture House self supporting.
The submission continues to support the key principles adopted in the early stages of this process which secure employment, ambience, public access and involvement.
Jason Boom, Town Clerk for Hebden Royd who submitted the document said, 'We believe this document clearly demonstrates the ability of Hebden Royd Town Council to take on the responsibility for the Picture House with its track record of achievement and it Quality Parish Status'
'We are clearly just beginning this process and have much to learn but I feel confident we will be able to deliver our promises and we continue to work towards our aspiration of making the Hebden Bridge Picture House the best single screen cinema in the country'
