High Hirst Exmoor ponies move on to pastures new

Three brown ponies graze, while another lies down behind them, at High Hirst Woodmeadow, Hebden Bridge.

The ponies have left High Hirst Woodmeadow for this season’s conservation grazing.

The ponies made a great impression on the local community with residents volunteering for ‘pony watch’ ensuring the health and wellbeing of our guests.

Thanks to those who volunteered and to National Trust’s Hardcastle Crags who lent the ponies to support Calderdale Council’s Ecological Emergency goals.

More conservation grazing will take place on site later on in the year with the return of both the sheep and ponies. Watch this space for more information!
