Volunteer Opportunities at High Hirst Woodmeadow

Hebden Royd Town Council’s Biodiversity project – High Hirst Woodmeadow Project – is recruiting volunteers to support the management of the site.

There will be a variety of tasks and activities to get involved with, including:

  • Seasonal practical conservation activities, including mowing with haymaking, vegetation management and orchard maintenance.
  • Supporting the various community engagement events which take place on the site including Meadows Day, Bat Walks and Moth Breakfasts.

Volunteers can expect to learn new practical skills in environmental conservation, as well as developing transferrable skills such as teamwork and time management.

These volunteer opportunities would suit anyone who’s looking to gain experience or make a career change into environmental work, as well as those who simply enjoy being outdoors amongst nature and are keen to help preserve this important Local Wildlife Site for generations to come.
