Hebden Royd Town Council Closing Times The Hebden Royd Town Council offices will be closed for Christmas from Friday 20th December at 12pm until Monday 6th January at 9am. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy 2020!

Notice of fireworks Notice is hereby given that Hebden Royd Town Council will be holding a public fireworks display as part of our Christmas Lights Switch On celebrations in Mytholmroyd (Sat 16 Nov) and Hebden Bridge (Thurs 21 Nov).

Autumn leaves: look after your drains Autumn has well and truly landed and we need your help! If you have noticed leaves and debris starting to pile up in your garden, we recommend that you sweep the leaves away and recycle them in an appropriate manner to ensure that they can’t get blown into your drainage system. Hebden Royd Town Council grants available to support ‘Green’ community projects Having declared a Climate Emergency in March 2019, Hebden Royd Town Council recognises the serious threat posed by climate change and the need to initiate and support projects which protect the environment and reduce our carbon footprint. The Community Grants Committee therefore welcome, and will prioritise, such projects. (31 October 2019)

Hebden Royd Town Council Mytholm Works Chimney Statement While both Calderdale Council and Hebden Royd Town Council are passionate about local heritage, including our industrial heritage, in the present economic climate the councils would find it difficult to take on the responsibility for the chimney at Mytholm Works in Hebden Bridge. The Great Hebden Bridge Pumpkin Festival Returns! The Great Pumpkin Festival, brought to you by Hebden Royd Town Council, is back for its third year in Hebden Bridge on Saturday 26th October from 11am - 5pm.

Hebden Bridge Picture House Vacancy. Hebden Royd Town Council is seeking to recruit proactive, efficient and experienced Front of House Manager, to work on an 0.5 FTE / 18.5 hour per week basis. (11 October 2019)

Mayor’s Fundraiser Ceilidh 2020 - You are invited to attend the Mayor of Hebden Royd Town Council's Charity Ceilidh at Mytholmroyd Community Centre on Saturday 21st March 2020. All funds raised on the evening are going to the Mayor's Charity this year, CROWs (Community Rights of Way Service).

Calling all businesses in Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd! The Town Council has a limited number of retail stands at the Pumpkin Festival hub in the Memorial Gardens 26 Oct) which we would like to open up to local businesses in the first instance to showcase what the town has to offer!

Quiz and Curry Night Fundraiser for CROWS The Mayor of Hebden Royd, Cllr Dr Carol Stow will be hosting a CROWS fundraising Quiz and Curry Night on Thursday 28th November at The Trades Club, Hebden Bridge to raise money for their work in the Calder Valley.

Hebden's Happy Hounds 2019 - New Date - Saturday 14th September 11am - 4pm. Hebden's Happy Hounds returns once more, bringing a fun filled afternoon to Calder Holmes Park for hounds and their humans.

The Great Pumpkin Festival 2019 Date Announced - The Great Pumpkin Festival, brought to you by Hebden Royd Town Council, will be back in Hebden Bridge on Saturday 26th October from 11am - 5pm.

Kenneth Kaberry award - Over the summer the Mayor of Hebden Royd, Cllr Dr Carol Stow, is presenting awards to Hebden Royd primary schools in memory of Kenneth Kaberry, a former long-standing town clerk from 1936 to 1986, and avid reader. (10 July 2019)

Hebden Bridge Picture House Vacancy. Hebden Royd Town Council is seeking to recruit one committed, motivated person to join our Front of House Team at the Hebden Bridge Picture House, to work regular hours each weekend plus occasional overtime hours, covering other staff members’ hours on a casual basis for holiday and sickness absence and working a share of additional shifts e.g. matinees during school holidays, shifts needing additional ushers. Hebden Royd Town Council Declare Climate Emergency - Hebden Royd Town Council passed a motion declaring a 'climate emergency' and supports Calderdale Council in assisting Governments to achieve their carbon emission savings. (26 March 2019)

Access for all at Hebden Bridge Train Station A working group of Hebden Royd Town Council and Hebden Bridge Disability Access Forum, received the very welcome news that the new lifts to both platforms at Hebden Bridge Railway Station are now completed and in service. Full access is now available on both platforms, and in both directions. (21 March 2019)

New Wildflower Site in Mytholmroyd: Hebden Royd Town Council are delighted to be adding a touch of colour to Mytholmroyd as a new project gets underway to plant a wildflower meadow at Hawksclough, a site which is currently infested with dock weed and ragwort. (13 March 2019)

Hebden Bridge Disability Access Hebden Bridge Disability Access Forum has published a map of accessible routes around Hebden Bridge centre, showing wheelchair friendly pavements, accessible toilets, bus stops and parking spaces. (17 July)

We are here to support our community Hebden Royd Town Council has a sizable Community Funding budget which it hopes will benefit as wide a range of groups as possible. KidsFest: On Saturday 23rd June between 12pm and 3pm, Hebden Royd Town Council will be holding their annual 'Kidsfest' in the Waterfront Hall, Hebden Bridge Town Hall.

Service to the Community Awards: Sue and Geoff Mitchell were recently presented with the 2018 Service to the Community Award by Hebden Royd Town Council. Sue and Geoff have worked tirelessly for over ten years as part of the Mytholmroyd Station Partnership.

Accessible toilets in the Park Calderdale Council have been working on the public toilets in Calder Holmes Park, Hebden Bridge and have, from 4th May 2018,​ re-opened the general use (unisex) toilet,​ as well as the accessible toilet which is available to disabled people with a RADAR key.

Mayor's Charity Cheque The Retiring Mayor of Hebden Royd, Cllr Pat Fraser at the Annual Meeting of the Town Council on Wednesday 6th May invited her charity, Andy's Man Club to the stage and presented them with a cheque for £2075.20. Friday, 18 May 2018

Handmade Parade returns for its 11th annual parade: Hebden Royd Town Council is tremendously proud to be one of the sponsors of the Hebden Bridge Handmade Parade which is returning this year for its 11th annual parade through the streets of Hebden Bridge on Sunday 24th June.

Fairfield by-election result: Richard Needham (Lab) 465 votes, Jenny Shepherd (Gn) 127 votes and Chris Wadsworth (LD) 100 votes. Richard Needham is the new Hebden Royd councillor for the Fairfield ward. Friday, 4 May 2018
