2020/21 Young Persons Service
to the Community Award

Each year Hebden Royd Town Council select an individual or small group of people for the Young Persons Service to the Community Award. The award for 2020/21 was made to all the young people of Hebden Royd to reflect their strength and resilience during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The prize traditionally comes with a small monetary award of £150, however, it was felt impossible to split this, or to purchase/undertake a significant project to mark the award. As such it was decided that as the Mayor’s Charity and a charity which provides support for young people across our area, that the Forget Me Not Hospice would be appropriate to receive the monetary donation.

This hospice provides, and has provided, support not only to some of the youngest and most vulnerable in our communities but also to their families bringing positivity and joy into their lives in the most challenging and difficult of times.

There will be an opportunity to support the Mayor’s charity events through his term. Please check back via this website for details. Or, to invite the Mayor to an event, please email Rebekah Cox at rebekah.cox@hebdenroydtowncouncil.gov.uk or telephone 01422 842181.
